President George W. Bush pardoned convicted criminals, setting them free to once again be within society! At the same time, the president says "I will not bailout the automakers, nor save the jobs of over 240,000 working Americans employed by the Big Three in one way or another, is this fair? Law abiding working Americans "Get stiffed", while criminals who have been incarcerated at taxpayers expense, get rewarded with pardons! Is something not right here or is this nations political train and common sense that far off the track and nothing else should be expected in 2008? What do you say?
Most answers pointed to Bill Clinton’s pardon’s….that was not the question! By your account Bill Clinton is a liberal nut! George W. Bush is a conservative genius! You expected those kind of pardons from the Clintons, but I asked you what you thought of conservative George W. Bush when he follows Bill Clinton"s actions……that you condemned, but upheld when George W. Bush done it! I simply asked what you thought of Bush giving pardons, allowing criminals to go free! Now I will ask you what you thought of Bill Clinton giving pardons to criminals allowing them to go free? Oh that’s right, you already answered that question before I even asked it, instead of answering the question pertaining to George W. Bush! I think George W. Bush did a great job pardoning those criminals and Bill Clinton did a lousy job of pardoning criminals! Course that is just my opinion! Have a nice day!

My mother purchased a car for my sister to drive for work and sis agreed to pay notes & insurance. (1st mistake…) My sister then stiffed her on the agreed monthly payments for 6 months, and failed to cover the car with full-coverage insurance…Guess next!
New car, uninsured & now totalled. As an added bonus, my sister used the tollway without the proper tag and ran up 00 in camera fines running the EZTAG lanes. The authorities are telling my mother she is responsible because the plates comeback in her name. My mother cannot go to jail for something my sister did! She is elderly, and lives over 80 miles from the occurances. What can we do??? Please anyone with good advice, Help me keep my Mother out of jail!

Let me just preface this by saying there isn’t a racist bone in my body.

I’ve waited table for several years and recently started serving in an area with a much higher percentage of black people than my previous area. So far I’m 0 for 6 with black women, the men are always awesome. I’m a decent server, although I’m still new to my restaurant and still learning the menu.

I just seems like every time, no matter how hard I try to avoid it, they come at me with a heavily modified order and a laundry list of stuff they need, which they tell me about one trip at a time, or come up with something done wrong. Murphy’s law requires that there be a hair in the food somewhere. I inevitably have to get my manager; a dessert gets comped, and I get stiffed.

Is this a consequence of some underlying sociological phenomenon? If so I would like to understand it better.

Is there anything I can do to get better at serving black women?

A few months ago I’ve had neck pain that lasted through all night and day, the only type of relief I got is when I woke up and I had up to 10 minutes until the pain started again for the whole day. It did eventually go away but just recently it came back. Now I’m trying to figure out if this is serious or if it’s just minor neck pain caused from maybe a pinched nerve.

Anyways, before the pain started I got a minor cold I believe all I got from it was a runny nose which occasionally stuffed up at times. After the cold went away a few days later I got the same neck pain again. Now I’m able to move my neck freely, right now I’m moving my chin up and down (feels the same) now left and right, all good. The pain is located at the back around the spine, my neck is slightly stiffed up but I’m still able to move.

Now I figured that this could be caused from swollen glands, in which I took penicillin, some anti-inflammatory drugs, and some decongestant. The pain went away for maybe 7-10 hours but I got some muscle pain on my right shoulder which is now gone. But the neck pain is still here. I’ve tried cold than heat multiple times, I’ve tried getting a massage but the pain remained there! Nothing is associated with it, it’s just my neck that has the pain I’ve been trying to rest, the pain goes down a little when I lay. But I just want to know what could cause this pain and how it could be treated.

I’m buying a zune from someone and have never used one before. i downloaded the software. do zunes sync as soon as you connect them like ipods do? or do you have to plug it in then ask it to sync? i just want to be sure i will know what to look for since im buying from someone on craigslist and i dont want to be stiffed lol so i plan to plug it in first to make sure it does what it should. let meknow if you know of anything I should look for.
also, the girl im buying it from says there are already some movies on there. how can i keep the moves on there and also sync my stuff to it? i never was able to figure out how to do that with ipods. do i have to change something in the settings to let me keep their stuff on it?

There’s this girl that I like more than any other girl i’ve ever met. There’s something different about her and I think I might be falling for her. There’s one issue. She’s becoming more and more distant from me and i think it’s because another guy has recently gotten involved. I’m beginning to see this guy’s name pop up more and more, her friends are writing on her online pages about how they want to meet him, and she pretty much stiffed me to hang out with this other guy (i told her to call, even if she was to tell me she couldnt hang, but she never did. she said she’d be busy shopping with her mom all day and that it probably wouldnt happen, yet i find out she hung out with him and a few friends). I’ve been talking to her for about a month and a half and have gotten to know her really well. Before this other guy got involved we had a great relationship building. I planned on telling her how i felt after i hung out with her a few times, but so far that hasnt happened and i dont see it happening any time soon (for the first month i was talking to her she was grounded. believe me i would’ve hung with her a long time ago if i could’ve). I just dont know what to do anymore. I want a relationship with her so bad but i dont know how to get one started. Now when we talk it’s dry and boring and she often cuts me off and says she’ll talk to me later but usually doesnt. Before we’d talk all the time, stay up late talking to each other, flirt and laugh the whole time. I know she had feelings for me, but they all seem to have been thrown out the window. I dont want to lose her, but i dont know if i should tell her how i feel. I guess i could wait it out for things with the other guy to end (she’s for sure still single but it seems like they’re headed for a relationship) but i’m afraid we’ll become way too distant. What should i do?

Mine is %4 of my sales, so if I have 0 in sales I have to tip out of my tips. 1.5% to the bar, 1.5% to our SA (Server Assistant..busser) and 1% to our greeter.

I think our tip out policy is too high and set up very poorly. For instance if you have nights were you have no drink orders from the bar, you still have to tip them out on your food sales. I think we should tip them out on our liqueur sales not food. They don’t touch our food, in-fact we run their food to the bar! They also make their own tip (which BTW, is WAY more then we get and they get double hour wage then us) We also have to tip out our SA’s if they go home early, which happens a lot when it is slow. So then we are stuck cleaning off our own tables and hauling bus bins and yet we still pay them for not being there. Also, if we get stiffed on a tab, we have to pay tip out on it. Management won’t consider revising the policy because they think it works fine, but all servers agree that its too high.
I work in a higher end restaurant our app (average per person) is . The restaurant has a average 100 covers a night. So its not like we are crazy busy!

What is your tip out policy and do you agree with it?

the salesman hands me a single key fob. Those things cost 0 a piece I believe. I was a little taken aback that I would get no spare. Did I get stiffed or is this type of thing common and accepted when buying a used car that is only a year old? Its not really the sort of thing you think to inquire about when negotiating but somehow I had a taste in my mouth about the whole thing considering I received no concessions whatsoever in the negotiations and end up driving away with a quarter tank of gas (forgot to mention that) and one key.

I like this girl for awhile now and lately we are becoming close and she is kinda giving me signs. I do not know if she meant it or not. I was actually joking around with her the other day. She said that she was tired all weekend and I said, "aww too much fun with your boyfriends.." and she replied, "No, I wish I had boyfriends…" but she was kinda shy when she answered me….and couldn’t look directly to me. Then I found out that we have clinicals on Saturday this week and I told her that I can’t go because me and my friends are going to Las Vegas…and she looked at me all serious and was kinda what, what are you going to do there…she was serious and my face was kinda joking but her face was really serious and was concerned. I feel so embarrased. also, when i was sitting next to her earlier her body was kinda stiffed and was shy to move. Also, this happens everyday she looks directly to my eyes and I get shy so I look away right ahead.
This week was kinda tough because no matter how hard I try to avoid her she is always there. Like right now after a week of not seeing her I was so excited to see her at school. But when she was there I felt so nervous. We are doing clinicals right now and got assigned on different stations. When I went outside of my resident’s room she was there. I was suprised because I wasn’t expecting her there because she was assigned in station d and im on c. She knows exactly what room i was assigned too. and when I asked her what she is doing there she said, "aww I was just looking around." then after my break she saw me and said if i wanted to walk around and she always asks me for help. we we’re together yesterday for quite a while. I saw a resident there that I met before and me and her were talking to her. Then, after I told the resident that Im gonna go back and visit her later.
Then few hours later she said if I visited my resident but I told her no not yet because I was busy so I told her that if she can visit her. But she told me she wanted me to come with her.

Today was really hard for me because I havent seen her that much but when I finally saw her, I was so happy and I saw something in her eyes. I think….hahahaha!
I noticed that when ever I go and teases her or joke around with her she always touches my arm or nudge me around. Seriously when ever I talk with her it feels so awkward because we are both quiet and kinda feel really shy towards each other and she also feel shy. I dont know how to explain it. She again touch my hair 2x today and when she was walking pass by me she kinda brush her body on my side. She also almost put her head again in my shoulder but the teacher went by so she quickly retracted. when I was wearing a scarf she like play around with it and always puts it in my face….

Sorry - this is a big long. I have an older brother who is in his 40s. He has a good job and makes good money. However, he is not financially responsible. Although he pays the bills that he has to (fixed expenditures like his mortgage, car insurance, etc.), he sees no obligation to pay other non-essential bills. Example: he’ll join several book clubs (sometimes making up false names so he can get a second set of bks delivered to his address), but he won’t pay the invoices. Same w/magazine subscriptions. Anything he can get with "bill me later", he’ll sign up for. Then, again, when the bill arrives, he just throws it away. He’s also borrowed money from former friends/co-workers, but never made an attempt to pay them back. When they threatened him with civil suits, he simply filed bankruptcy (twice) to have the debts discharged. Before getting his own home, he had several roommates with whom he stiffed for rent & utility bills. He owed ,000, ,000, 0 & 0 to different people, but never paid them back. At one time, he had over 40 credit cards - which he ran up huge debts on impulse vacations and buying. That’s where his first bankruptcy came in. In the past couple years, he’s aquired several of those "second chance" credit cards for people w/bad credit. He even maxed those out w/o a care in the world. When the bill comes in, he tosses it. No obligation whatsover to pay it. He is not a phone person so it’s hard for creditors to reach him (purposely leaves his answering machine/voicemail off). If a creditor does get through, he’ll tell them they have the wrong number. He’s also run up numerous doctor, emergency room & ambulance bills (he has chronic asthma for which he had to be rushed to the ER a few times), but he makes no attempt to pay them. All the money he makes goes into his savings & retirement (except for mortgage, etc.). My parents and I do not know how to help him or why he does these things. My parents raised us to be responsible (Dad always paid the bills on time) and I do a good job of paying what I owe - even if I have to ask for an extension sometimes. We do not loan him any money - but my mother, especially, is so distraught over why he does this. I’ve asked him why he does this. He says he just got in over his head and wants to start fresh. But, he keeps doing it. He doesn’t learn. Has anyone else been through this? Why do people who can - NOT pay their bills?
Forgot to add: he’s also had numerous (maybe a dozen?) bank accounts for which he’d bounce several checks and then instead of making good on them, he’d let the account be closed & he’d open up another account at another bank.
