How does The Zune Program Work?

March 12th, 2010 · 2 Comments · Yahoo Answers

I’m buying a zune from someone and have never used one before. i downloaded the software. do zunes sync as soon as you connect them like ipods do? or do you have to plug it in then ask it to sync? i just want to be sure i will know what to look for since im buying from someone on craigslist and i dont want to be stiffed lol so i plan to plug it in first to make sure it does what it should. let meknow if you know of anything I should look for.
also, the girl im buying it from says there are already some movies on there. how can i keep the moves on there and also sync my stuff to it? i never was able to figure out how to do that with ipods. do i have to change something in the settings to let me keep their stuff on it?

  • Hi B

Here are some instructions on how to set the syncing options:

    1) Open Zune Marketplace

    2) Click on "Settings" on top right of the screen

    3) Click on "Device" on the top left

    4) Click on "Sync Options" on the left

    5) Then you will be able to pick your options either "Manual Sync", "Items I Choose" or "All"

To add to Hi B’s answer, you don’t have to be connected to your computer to sync as long has you have a wireless network at home. Zunes can sync wirelessly. If you want to add apps at some point then you need to make sure that the Zune you are getting is HD. The apps are only for HD.

As Hi B said, change your sync options. If you want to be able to keep what is already on there then choose one of the manual sync options.

If have more specific questions then feel free to message me. I’ll answer them if I can.

You can also find videos about the Zune on various video sites such as youtube and metacafe.

Don’t forget converters for your videos. Zune seems to have the least amount of trouble with wmv. What size depends on the Zune device
    you are getting.

I just bought a Zune HD 32 and it converted almost all of my videos because they were 320×240 the size that my old Zune used.
